About Us

Titan Publishing Group

Titan Publishing Group is an independently-owned publishing company, established in 1981. It is based at offices in London's Bankside area, close to Tate Modern. We publish on a world English basis, as well as territory by territory, with domestic sales teams & distribution in the US, UK, Australia & New Zealand, and export agents in other territories.

Titan Publishing Group has two main divisions: Titan Books and Titan Magazines, with their own editorial and marketing staff. Our in-house graphic design studio and production department serve both divisions, and provide a strong creative, design style for all the company's titles.

The Books Division

The Books Division has three main areas of publishing: film & TV tie-ins/cinema reference books; fiction; and graphic novels & comics reference/art titles.

Film & TV

Farscape

Titan Books is a leading publisher of high quality film and TV tie-ins, with particular strength in the area of licensed entertainment titles. We publish on average 30-40 new film and TV tie-in titles per year, across a broad range of formats from "making of" books and screenplays to TV companions and novels, and we have an extensive backlist reprint programme.

We also publish a growing list of prestigious and critically-acclaimed cinema reference titles such as The Alfred Hitchcock Story, The Hammer Story, Movie London and The Winston Effect: The Art & History of the Stan Winston Studio.

Our range of fiction continues to grow, with novelisations of films such as Terminator Salvation to come in 2009, along with ongoing series of original noels based on TV shows such as Primeval. In the UK in 2008 we have also published the movie novelisations for Iron Man*, The Dark Knight* and X-Files: I Want to Believe*.

Our new titles for 2008 include The Spirit: The Making of the Movie, a stunning behind-the-scenes look at Frank Miller's new film, Seagalogy, an in-depth study of action hero Steven Seagal; and many more.

In spring 2009, we are proud to be publishing tie-ins to two spectacular and long-awaited movies: Watchmen and Terminator Salvation. For Watchmen, we will be publishing an art of, a companion book and a stunning collection of black & white portraits by renowned photographer, Clay Enos. For Terminator Salvation we will be publishing an art of, a companion book and a range of tie-in and original story fiction.

Our TV companion series also goes from strength to strength, with new companion books to 24, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, Smallville, Supernatural, Bones and Ghost Whisperer, with more hit series being added all the time.

Graphic Novels

Buffy

Titan Books is the leading publisher of graphic novels in the UK..We have a backlist of over 1000 graphic novel titles and well over six million copies sold to date.

We publish a wide range of titles, using licensed characters and properties such as Batman*, Heroes*, Superman*, Sandman*, The Simpsons*, Star Wars*, Tank Girl, Transformers, and World of Warcraft*.

Graphic novels continue to provide fantastic source material for film & TV again this year, with related titles including Batman*, The Spirit* and Wanted*.

New additions to the "classic strips" library list, which already features James Bond, Modesty Blaise, Charley's War, and Dan Dare, include collections of the ever-popular soccer strip Roy of the Rovers and influential war comic Battle, and Sydney Jordan's SF Jeff Hawke series.

We have a growing line of successful children's comic collections, including Scooby-Doo*, SpongeBob*, Star Wars: The Clone Wars*, Transformers Adventures* and Wallace & Gromit.

We also publish immensely popular high quality 'coffee table' books on animation, popular culture, collectibles and comic and fantasy art.

Our 2008 lead title is Watching The Watchmen, Dave Gibbons' visual account of the genesis of the acclaimed bestselling graphic novel, Watchmen, featuring hundreds of rare and unseen illustrations from his personal archive.

Also published in 2008 is The Cream of Tank Girl, a lavish art book which celebrates the 20th anniversary of Alan Martin and Jamie Hewlett's anarchic creation, born kicking and screaming in the early days of punk and still going strong.
